Privacy policy

Manoj Kumar, trading as MJourney Labs, operates MJourney Books. We use personal information to run the store, deliver purchases and respond to you. We do not sell personal information.

Information we use

• Account: your email address, verification status, authentication identifiers and any display name you provide. Firebase handles password authentication; passwords are not stored in our store database.
• Orders and payments: purchased titles, amounts, order numbers, provider transaction references and status. Razorpay processes payment details. We do not store full card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs or banking passwords.
• Library and reading: purchased-book entitlements and full-book access activity to provide the reader, assess cancellation eligibility and investigate misuse. Reading position, bookmarks and reader theme are stored locally on your browser, separately for each account and book.
• Support: your email, topic, subject and message, including any order information you choose to send.
• Optional analytics: only after opt-in, page and book views, checkout events, a random session identifier and campaign tags. We also retain server-verified purchase records needed to operate the store.
• Newsletter: if you opt in, your email and the consent you gave. Newsletter signup is separate from buying a book.

Why we process it

We use this information for authentication, payment verification, delivery, receipts, support, security, fraud prevention and applicable accounting or legal obligations. Optional analytics helps us understand and improve the store. Marketing requires a separate opt-in.

Service providers

• Google Firebase: email/password authentication and email verification.
• Supabase: store database, sessions, private book storage and backend functions. Our store project is hosted in Mumbai, India.
• Razorpay: checkout, payments, payment verification and refunds.
• Hostinger: website hosting and transactional email sent from books@mjourneylabs.com.

We share information needed for those services, or where required by law or to protect legal rights. Providers may process some information in other countries under their own service arrangements; the Mumbai project location does not mean all authentication, payment, email and technical data stays in India.

Browser storage and your choices

Essential browser storage supports sign-in, security and preferences such as your theme. The privacy banner lets you allow analytics or choose essential storage only. To reset that choice, clear this site's browser data and choose again; this may also sign you out. You can use checkout without opting into analytics.

Retention and security

We retain account and library information while needed to provide access, and order and payment records while needed for accounting, disputes and legal obligations. Support, security and analytics records are retained only as needed for their stated purposes. Deletion requests are reviewed against those needs and legal requirements; deleting an account does not necessarily delete records we must retain.

We use authenticated access, database access controls and private book storage served through an authenticated, entitlement-checked reading endpoint. No online service can guarantee complete security. Please keep your credentials private and report suspected account misuse promptly.

Use the privacy contact form or email the contact below to request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of optional consent or newsletter removal. We may verify your identity before acting. We explain any retention or other limitation that prevents full completion of a request. The grievance contact below handles complaints.

We publish changes on this page with an updated date. Material changes that require a new choice or consent will be presented when applicable.
